Officially unveiled back in November, Motorola Moto G hit shelves the same month, but the smartphone is only available in a handful of countries for the moment.

However, the US-based company promised that it would bring the budget-friendly smartphone in additional markets beginning January 2014.

Well, it looks like at least one country has been confirmed to receive the Moto G in early January 2014. The folks over at AndroidOS report that Motorola has just announced on its official Twitter account that the Moto G will arrive in India in early January.

Although the handset maker has previously said that the Moto G will be available in India starting Q1 2014, there was no timeframe confirmed until today.

Android fans and enthusiasts in India thinking to buy Motorola’s affordable smartphone won’t have to wait too much until the Moto G reaches their country.

Unfortunately, no info on the Moto G’s price tag in India is available for the moment, though Motorola has announced that the smartphone will be up for grabs for only $190 (€140) outright. That’s an incredibly low price for a smartphone that comes with the latest version of Android onboard.

The Moto G was initially launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but the second wave of countries that will get the smartphone will receive it with KitKat onboard.

In addition, the smartphone comes equipped with a large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, Motorola Moto G is packed with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

It also sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
