Acer announced a range of Android smartphones during Computex 2014 trade fair. Among these new smartphones, the Acer Liquid Z200 seems to be the cheapest of them all.

According to the Taiwanese handset maker, the Liquid Z200 will be available in select European countries beginning mid-June for only €79 ($107) off contract.

The smartphone will be available in various color options, such as: Titanium Black, Essential White, Fragrant Pink, Sky Blue, and Sunshine Yellow.

It’s unclear whether or not the Liquid Z200 will be available in Asia where it could be a serious competitor for the Motorola Moto E that was launched in India last month.

Judging by the phone’s specs sheet, Acer Liquid Z200 seems to be aimed at emerging markets where dual-SIM capability is mandatory. Acer should bring its budget-friendly smartphone to India and China to boost its sales.

Bringing the Liquid Z200 only in Europe will be a mistake especially due to the fact that European carriers do not like dual-SIM smartphones at all.

Talking about the phone’s specs sheet, it’s worth mentioning that Acer Liquid Z200 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

It also comes with something called Acer Quick Mode, which consists of four profiles that are built in the phone’s software and which are meant to offer different features for different users and age groups.

For example, the Basic Mode is aimed at youngsters with fixed call and text functions, while the Easy Senior Mode allows for quick messages with pre-set text, radio, weather, magnifier, clock, quick call contacts for the convenience of elderly users.

With the Classic Mode, the main functions are organized in a simple way, while the layout is perfect for first-time smartphone users. Last but not least, the Keypad Mode enables quick and direct dialing setting for feature phone switchers or those who primarily use voice and need their keypad immediately.

Hardware-wise, Acer Liquid Z200 is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, 512MB of RAM and 2-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The smartphone sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. There’s no front-facing camera available and no word whether or not the Liquid Z200 also packs microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Last but not least, Acer Liquid Z200 can be integrated with other Acer PCs for accessing data anytime while one the move via Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC). BYOC is a cloud service that allows users to store music, photos and other type of content.
