One of the best-selling Android Wear smartwatches, Motorola's Moto 360, is now the first to receive the newest version of Android that's been officially released.

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is now being seeded by Motorola to all Moto 360 smartwatches, so if you own one, you might want to check for the update.

Keep in mind though that you won't be able to downgrade once you've updated to this version of Android Wear. It's also worth mentioning that the official changelog for the newest update for Motorola Moto 360 is very short.

According to Motorola, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for Moto 360 should update the Google Play services and adds a range of bug fixes for some known issues.

Moreover, a variety of optimizations and security updates to improve performance and stability have been implemented as well.

The update will be rolled out in stages over the next few days

Motorola also mentions that this update will be rolled out in stages to Moto 360 users over the next few days, so if you check for it and it doesn't show on your smartwatch yet, then you might want to try again later.

Keep in mind that this is a required update, so it should automatically install on your Moto 360 when it gets pushed by Motorola. You might receive a notification to download and install the update during the day, otherwise it will update during the night, while charging.

Make sure that your Moto 360 smartwatch is connected to a smartphone that has access to the Internet. This is the only way to download and install this update on your Moto 360 smartwatch.

Also, the battery of your smartwatch should be greater than 80%, otherwise you won't be able to download and install the latest update. After upgrading, make sure that your software version is 5.0.2 and build number LWX49L.
