Shortly after launching the Motorola MOTOKEY Social in Mexico, the US-based handset manufacturer announced the upcoming availability of another feature-phone, Motorola MOTOKEY Wi-Fi.

Even though the handset is not yet available on the market, Motorola confirmed the MOTOKEY Wi-Fi is expected to hit shelves sometime in mid-April for a price that will be disclosed in due time.

Motorola won't be selling this one through its own retail channels of authorized resellers, instead the MOTOKEY Wi-Fi will be available for purchase on pre-paid Amigo Kit at Telcel stores.

Aimed at customers who are heavily using social networking services while on the go, Motorola MOTOKEY Wi-Fi offers users access to main social media apps pre-loaded like Twitter, as well as a Facebook button right on the keypad.

With Motorola MOTOKEY Wi-Fi users can instantly access their Facebook profiles by simply clicking the “F” button. The phone’s full QWERTY keyboard enables faster and more accurate typing.

Although there aren't too many details on the phone's specs, Motorola confirms the MOTOKEY Wi-Fi will be delivered with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as a main photo snapper that allows users to capture snapshots and videos.

In addition, the handset comes pre-loaded with built-in MP3 player and FM radio. As the name suggests, the feature-phone comes with Wi-Fi support, as well as GPRS, EDGE and microUSB.

Motorola's decision to launch two handsets that have similar targets, social networking services users, is a bit confusing. Basically, these affordable mobile phones will be released at the same time and will compete each other on the Mexican market.

Today, having immediate access to everyone who matters in your life, from wherever you may be, is a top priority. Staying in touch with friends and family has never been easier; with Motorola MOTOKEY Wi-Fi and with its dedicated Facebook key, you can share all your life in real time,” said Silvina Gonzalez Podesta, marketing director, Motorola Mobility Mexico.
