Motorola ME865 is making headlines in Asia as the smartphone has just been introduced in Hong Kong and Taiwan. However, Taiwanese Motorola fans will also be able to purchase the white flavor version of the ME865 beginning late December.

Currently, the Motorola ME865 is available for purchase in Hong Kong for a suggested retail price of $515 (395 EUR), whereas Taiwanese people can get it for $555 (425 EUR) off-contract.

Also known as Motorola ATRIX 2, the smartphone comes with a larger 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display that boasts 540 x 960 pixels resolution and supports 16 million colors.

When it comes to design, Motorola ME865 is quite the looker. It measures 126 x 66 x 10mm and weighs 147g (battery included), which makes it a perfectly balanced smartphone.

Motorola ME865 is a peerless portable entertainment center and smartphone in one. It’s awesome for moves, music, surfing, social media and so much more,” said Ritchie Ma, general manager of Motorola Mobility Taiwan limited, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The phone runs Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and MOTOBLUR user interface with Live Widgets on top. In addition, the Motorola ME865 comes pre-loaded with Adobe Flash Player 10, as well as business-ready security and productivity apps.

Motorola ME865 features PIN lock and password protection, as well as inactivity timeouts and data encryption on both the smartphone and the SD card.

With a dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1 GHz and a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit, Motorola ME865 provides a smooth browsing experience and multitasking like never before.

There’s also an 8-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording and playback. A secondary front facing photo snapper is included as well, which is perfectly suitable for video calls and chats.
