14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola Mobility has just announced the upcoming availability of the budget-friendly MOTOSMART in the UK. The Android smartphone will be available on T-Mobile from the end of July, for free on select plans, or for 100 GBP (155 USD or 125 EUR) on PAYG (pay as you go).
Keep in mind that this an entry-level Android phone, aimed at customers who are looking to purchase their first smartphone. For the time being, there are no details on a possible worldwide rollout for the Motorola MOTOSMART.
In this regard, Motorola MOTOSMART is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread integrated with MotoSwitch user interface.
The latter is able to learn automatically who the user is talking with the most and which apps one is taking advantage of during the days, as well as one’s favorite songs.
Given the fact that Motorola MOTOSMART is Google-certified, users will have access to more than 600,000 apps and games via Google Play store, formerly known as Android Market.
Hardware-wise, the MOTOSMART is far from being impressive, as the device is equipped with a low-performance 800 MHz single-core processor and packs 512MB of RAM. The phone’s internal memory can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
Furthermore, the smartphone sports a decent 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 320 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.
On the back, the MOTOSMART features a standard 3-megapixel photo snapper, which doesn’t come with any extra settings.
Obviously, the phone offers multiple connectivity options, including GPS, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB, along with Internet and email capabilities.
