14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola has gone on record again to announce that two of its tablets have reached Finnish stores, specifically the El-Gigantii chain, so prospective buyers can rush to shops and get them.
The slates in question are called Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition and have prices of 399 upwards.
To be more specific, the Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition - Wi-Fi variant costs 399 Euro, the Motorola XOOM 2 Wi-Fi and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition Wi-Fi & 3G cost 449 Euro, and the Motorola XOOM 2 Wi-Fi & 3G variant sells for 519 Euro.
We'd give the exchange rate equivalents if we thought they mattered. As it is, they do not. US customers can get the same products from various retailers at just as many dollars as Finnish stores want Euro.
The XOOM 2 measures 10.1 inches, has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and the Android 3.2 operating system.
Meanwhile, Xoom 2 Media Edition features an 8.2-inch screen, but otherwise the same specs as its sibling.
“Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road,” said Victoria McManus, UK and Nordics marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
“We are very excited about the latest additions to our tablet portfolio that builds on the success of the original Motorola XOOM to now deliver a more powerful tablet experience to the Finnish market.”
Motorola gave both slates Corning Gorilla Glass panels, making their screens much more resistant to damage than most other tablets. The company also tossed in the MotoCast app, which streams music, photos, documents and images to and from a PC without any media tools, cords or auxiliary programs.
Needless to say, both products have USB support (micro USB 2.0), HDMI outputs, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, two cameras (5 mp back, 1.3 mp front) and battery life of up to 10 hours of video playback / Wi-Fi browsing (6 days MP3 playing, 30 days standby).
