Mobile phone maker Motorola has been long rumored to be working on the development of a new handset that will run under Google's Android operating system, namely the Motorola Devour (which emerged previously as the Calgary), and now the device made another appearance into the wild. The best part of the news is that it surfaced all dressed up in silver, suggesting that there are at least two color versions of the device headed to the market.

The Motorola Devour (Calgary) is expected to arrive on shelves via mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless, just as its big brother Motorola DROID did. Up until now, only the black variant of the device has been spotted in previously leaked images, yet it seems that Big Red's customers might soon be able to enjoy it in two flavors, as the silver version is expected to also arrive at the carrier.

The Android-based Motorola Devour is set to make an appearance on the shelves with a full QWERTY keyboard in the package, as well as with Motorola's MotoBlur user interface thrown over the operating system. At the same time, the mobile phone is also expected to arrive with an optical trackpad instead of a D-pad, something that should enhance its ease of use.

Moreover, BGR states that, according to an anonymous source, the Motorola Devour would be easier to use than the already available Motorola DROID. Among the other specs that are currently available for the handset, we can also count Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, a 3-megapixel photo snapper, and 3.5mm headset jack, as well as a 1420 mAh battery.

For the time being, there are no details available on when Verizon might announce the launch of Motorola Devour (Calgary); yet, with CES 2010 set to kick off in only a couple of days, it shouldn't come as a surprise if the device gets unveiled before the end of the week. No info on the price tag Devour might arrive on shelves with emerged either.
