I just got my hands on a new piece of info related to the latest craze going around all over the world, that being the Mobile TV technology that slowly but surely takes its rightful place on today's mobile market. According to a Motorola Taiwan official, Jerry Kuo, who is the technical and product director of mobile devices at that specific branch of the mobile phone manufacturer, it seems that the long rumored DVB-H prototype cell phone will be released some time during the mid 2007.

As the rumors said in the past, the Motorola handset is very similar to the 680i Linux powered smartphone and has all the main design features that the 680i does. It will probably have a big touchscreen display with a 352x288 pixels resolution, a stylus because of the lacking QWERTY keyboard, a miniUSB connector, headphone jack, 1.3 megapixel camera, a 5-way joystick, a jog dial on its side and, as far as I know until now, the phone will be able to offer access to DVB-T standard Mobile TV.

Hopefully, they will decide that the mid 2007 is too late and will decide to release it earlier so all people around the world will get a better taste of the mobile multimedia access we have all wanted and waited for so long.

Till then, you will just have to be happy with the pictures of Asian Mobile TV enabled handsets that you can see on the web and with the occasional hands-on video released by some lucky fellow living in the land where all the people wear a pair of angled eyes.
