It looks like Motorola plans to release yet another RAZR clone smartphone. This time the company decided to add an HD-enabled display on the RAZR’s chassis, as well as an updated mobile platform and sell it as DROID RAZR HD.

According to a photo’s EXIF data, the next-generation Motorola RAZR will be launched on the market as DROID RAZR HD.

Apparently, a Motorola employee took this photo about a week ago and decided to upload it to Picasa. The EXIF data of the photo reveals some details about the phone’s camera, along with its codename and the mobile platform.

Although the photo was taken with a lower resolution, rumor has that the smartphone will boast a 13-megapixel rear camera. In addition, the EXIF data reveals a lens with an f/2.4 aperture.

Further details unveil that the phone is codenamed Vanquish and is powered by Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The phone is listed as DROID RAZR HD model, which is a clear indication that the smartphone will feature a 720p HD screen. That’s about all the info we can get from this EXIF data, but more details will probably emerge soon.

Previous rumors on a certain DROID Fighter that might be launched by Verizon Wireless later this year suggested that the smartphone would boast a 4.6-inch display.

Moreover, DROID Fighter’s design strongly resembles that of the original DROID RAZR, which means there’s a high change that this is in fact the DROID RAZR HD. Aside from these small details on the DROID RAZR HD, everything else is just speculation.

Although there is no telling exactly when this device gets launched in the United States, it will be interesting to see whether Motorola release the Android 4.0 ICS-based smartphone before it actually deploys the upgrade for the original DROID RAZR.
