No word on its price yet, but it should hit shelves in March

Unveiled last month, Motorola DEFY MINI and MOTOLUXE have just been confirmed for Germany. Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting March.

However, while the MOTOLUXE has already been priced at 279 EUR (370 USD), the handset maker has yet to unveil Motorola DEFY MINI’s pricing options.

Unlike Motorola MOTOLUXE that offers a few strong features, such as a large 4-inch touchscreen display and an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera, the DEFY MINI is a pure entry-level Android smartphone.

Hopefully, the device will be priced accordingly and will be available in Germany for under 200 EUR (265 USD). In this regard, Motorola hints at its price and says that it will be available “for a price that won’t break the bank.”

The smallest handset in the DEFY family, the smartphone offers the same level of ruggedness, including Corning Gorilla Glass coating, along with dust and water resistance.

The phone is powered by Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system. Motorola is likely to skip this one when it deploys the Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs for its own smartphones.

The phone is aimed at customers who cannot afford to purchase high-end devices, and its specs may not be enough to run Android 4.0.

Motorola DEFY MINI sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display supporting 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

Hardware-wise, the phone packs a low-performance 600 MHz processor, 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Motorola DEFY MINI is just the right mix of style, value, performance and toughness. It can stand up to whatever your busy life throws at you, keep you connected and organized, and capture and share your once-in-a-lifetime adventures – all with resilience and style,”said Claudia Laepke, marketing director, Motorola Mobility Germany GmbH, Motorola Mobility, Inc.
