Motorola Mobility and AT&T have finally confirmed the upcoming availability of the Motorola ATRIX HD featuring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and LTE support.

Leaked online last week, Motorola ATRIX HD will go on sale at AT&T on July 15 for as low as $99.99 with a new two-year agreement.

The good news is that the ATRIX HD will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system onboard, which will save customers the trouble of waiting for a potential update.

Aside Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest Motorola ATRIX HD Android phone offers an impressive 4.5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) ColorBoost capacitive touchscreen display “which is the highest resolution smartphone display on the market,” providing users with more vibrant colors and 50% more pixels than any other smartphone.

The ATRIX HD features a splash resistant body and is only 8.4mm thin. Moreover, the smartphone is made with DuPont Kevlar fiber and Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

Given the phone’s powerful hardware, this seems to be Motorola’s new Android flagship smartphone. In this regard, the device is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

However, unlike the Motorola RAZR that packs 16GB of internal memory, the ATRIX HD embeds only 8GB onboard memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the device boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Software-wise, Motorola ATRIX HD comes pre-loaded with SMARTACTIONS, an innovative Motorola application, which enables users to save battery life and suggests ways to automatically change phone’s settings.

When it comes to connectivity, the smartphone offers multiple options, including HSDPA and HSUPA, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, as well as HDMI and microUSB.
