30 frames per second and 720p

Sony Computer Entertainment America senior VP of marketing, Peter Dille indicated that MotorStorm would have 60 frames per second and will support 1080p resolution (therefore it will have full HD graphics). He was not the only one making this kind of statement, as another Sony representative supported and confirmed his statements, according to 1up.

Since then, the entire PS3 community has gone crazy, commenting and speculating. Today, 1up has another story in which they claim that the upcoming PS3 racing game will NOT have 1080p support and 60 frames per second, but 720p and 30 frames per second. Apparently, this is exclusive information, which was revealed to them by some SCEA sources.

MotorStorm was already released in Japan in December of last year, and it instantly became the best selling PS3 game. So far, two demos have been released, one is available at retail stores and the other one can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network Store. The demos are basically the same, they feature the same tracks, but the kiosk demo allows you to switch vehicles on the grid before the race starts.

MotorStorm could well be one of the best racing games on the PS3, if we are to take into account the high review scores. The first review to the Japanese version of the game was done by gamebrink and they awarded it 9 out of 10. Here is how they describe it: "Motorstorm is pretty much the best off-road driving simulation ever to grace a console. The physics are so accurate, yet altered for arcade like effect, and feel so right that the development team must have had at least a couple Physics PhD's on staff to pull off such a feat."
