Evolution Studios has announced that its latest game, MotorStorm Apocalypse, has received a major update which effectively gives the destruction-based racing game a bigger emphasis on user generated content, similar to other PlayStation 3 exclusive games like ModNation Racers or LittleBigPlanet.

MotorStorm Apocalypse is a pretty interesting racing game, launched earlier this year on the PS3, that managed to attract quite a lot of players with the races that take place in a post-apocalyptic scenario, with ever-changing tracks and all sorts of vehicles, from bikes to monster trucks or anything in between.

Now, in order to really draw in players, Evolution Studios, the developer of the series, has deployed a major update that gives more customization options to players, who can now design their own game modes, which can be played either online or offline, or customize their own vehicles and share them with others.

What's more, MotorStorm Apocalypse now has full support for the PlayStation Move motion control system, as well as for a variety of special steering wheels, especially ones from Logitech.

Improvements have also been made to the online multiplayer mode, while players can now create their own special profiles on the community website, which will depict more details about their activity inside MotorStorm Apocalypse.

"In response to continued feedback from MotorStorm players, the update also includes additions and improvements such as; new racer ‘clan tags’, changes to gambling (bets are now won when a rival is disconnected or disqualified), and changes to lobby privacy (so that private rooms can only be joined by invitation)," said Daimion Pinnock, Producer of the game at Sony Computer Entertainment America.

"The community website has also been updated to include player profiles which show off player activity, stats, performance over the last 10 races and shared vehicle designs. The update also includes a mobile version of the website which lets you use an internet enabled mobile device to keep up to speed with the latest MotorStorm activity (and your friends) wherever you are."
