The Tomb Raider franchise is perhaps one of the most long lasting adventure series out there. With the first title appearing in 1996, the popularity of the franchise has always been high, with numerous fans eagerly anticipating the next adventures of Lara Croft, one of the most known videogame characters out there.

The success of the series even spawned off two movies, where Lara was played by actress Angelina Jolie, which faired pretty well at the box office. Eidos Interactive, the owners of the Tomb Raider Intellectual Property, have done everything to ensure that Lara is still in the spot light of the videogames industry and have heavily promoted the games in the series.

Such is the case with the latest one, Tomb Raider: Underworld, which is set to hit store shelves on November 18 for North America, with Europe getting a taste of Lara on November 21. Eidos recently announced having struck an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, and released the demo of the game only for the Xbox 360.

Players who can't wait to uncover Lara's adventures in this eighth title in the Tomb Raider series must have at least 1.3 GB of free hard disk space in order to play it and, sadly, an Xbox Live Gold membership because the demo is exclusive to paying users.

Tomb Raider: Underworld promises to fill in any story gap left within the last two titles in the franchise, Legend and Anniversary, and will take the action of the game into various settings like the Mediterranean Sea, the jungles of Central America or even the mountains of Scandinavia in search of a precious relic. We have already reported on the fact that the Xbox 360 version of the game would also get two exclusive DLC packs which would further develop the storyline of the game and would keep players entertained until a new release is announced by Eidos.
