Without a big press release, or anything else for that matter, MOTO Q11 has appeared on Motorola's website, thus making its entrance in the mobile phone world. Rumors about this device have been making the rounds for a while but, until now, not much information on it was available, the only thing that seemed certain being that Q11 would be the successor of Motorola Q9. Finally, we now have all the details we ever wanted to know about this handheld.

MOTO Q11 is a slim phone (117 x 64 x 11.7 mm) with integrated WiFi, designed for people that also require a fast connection to the Internet. This is done by Q11's WiFi, which uses Boingo Mobile to connect automatically to all the WiFi locations it can find in whatever place you might be. The 2.4-inch 320 x 240 TFT 262K display should come really in handy for Internet page viewing or photo sliding, since the phone also delivers users a 3MP, fixed focus, LED Flash, 8x zoom camera.

The device also features a full QWERTY keypad for fast messaging and typing, and integrated GPS that can be used for navigation support and for Google Maps. Boosting 128MB Flash and 64MB of RAM, Q11 was given a microSD card slot designed to support up to 32GB. All this should make the Windows Mobile 6.1 that powers the handheld run pretty smoothly. Other features include advanced multimedia and messaging capabilities, and Bluetooth 2.1 & microUSB connectivity.

Being a quad band GPRS / EDGE class 10 phone, Motorola Q11 is clearly meant to function well all over the world.

Motorola said that this phone was going to have an affordable price, while users should expect it to hit stores starting December 2008. All in all, it could make for a nice holidays gift, since it clearly looks like a pretty good alternative to Blackberry and Nokia smartphones.
