It seems that Sony, the publisher, and Naughty Dog, the developer studio, are really keen on making sure that Uncharted 2 attracts as many players as possible. Taking a page out of the book of Electronic Arts, the two are trying to expand the appeal of the videogame by delivering content related to it via a new motion comic set to arrive in the coming months showing the adventures of the characters of the series before they arrive in the game world.

Neil Druckmann, who is the lead designer working for Naughty Dog, entered into a live chat with fans of the series and answered one question related to the future by saying “Well besides DLC - which you should hear more about pretty soon - we have an exclusive announcement! We're releasing a prequel story to Uncharted 1 as a motion comic voiced by your favorite actors from the two games. Stay tuned for more info.”

Druckmann has not said when it is coming out or whether it will be delivered for free to those who own the first Uncharted or the sequel or whether those interested will have to pay for it.

It's also intriguing to see that they are interested in offering some content that takes place before the first videogame in the series, probably detailing some of the background of Nathan Drake and showing a new character or two that might then make it into the third game in the series.

Naughty Dog has already announced that it plans to deliver several rounds of downloadable content for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The initial releases are said to be focused on offering more multiplayer maps and game modes but later in the life time of the videogame, players might receive some more single player content.
