Looks like motherboard makers may not have that much to worry about this year, except each other.

According to some of the latest reports on the matter, the global motherboard market will rise by approximately 5% in 2012.

That is to say, the total products shipped by motherboard vendors will go up by that percentage.

Meanwhile, the main producers of such items (most of them based in Taiwan) may have to put more effort than usual into promoting their products.

Since the 5% is not exactly a monumental progress, companies will have to fight to at least maintain their current market share.

Thus, they will need to strive to sell at least as many products as last year.

Forecasts say ASUS will jump from 22 million sold units to 24 million, while Gigabyte will go from 17.5-18 to 19.

Meanwhile, ASRock will progress from 8 to 10 and MSI will move from 7 to 8 million.
