According to a recent study, 8 out of 10 English people think that their country is “overcrowded” and have decided to fully support the government's strategy of fighting the population growth, which apparently might reach 70 million individuals during the next 16 years.

The people are keen on gathering signatures to make the Downing Street petition function while triggering a legal framework that could provide an effective answer to the emerging situation.

It has been proved that Mother Nature spreads her resources in a more efficient and equal way when dealing with less individuals. More mouths to feed will make the limited amount of resources shrink in the near future.

According to the information provided yesterday, The YouGov opinion poll developed to support the campaign group MigrationWatch highlighted that 79 percent of adults would want England to be less populated and think the country is “crowded” at this point in time, while 37 percent of this segment of subjects consider the same space as being "very crowded."

Even more alarming seems to be the fact that it is a general belief that the population must be stopped from expanding, since only 3% said that it is still plenty of space left to respond to the demand of more and more individuals.

The last category of people expressed that they would want net immigration to increase its numbers, compared with the most recent level, which reached 240,000.

Nevertheless, the same poll reflected the fact that 15% of the adults questioned are pleased with the present context, affirming that England isn't threatened by the growing number of its inhabitants, since the situation is "about right."

"This poll explains the huge public support for our e-petition and demonstrates quite clearly that most people think England is already overcrowded," stated MigrationWatch UK Chairman Sir Andrew Green, while talking about the poll's result.
