Rachel Ray just created the most ridiculous “recipe” ever: it’s called Late Night Bacon and it’s been posted on the Food Network website – and has gone viral since publication.

For the “ingredients,” you need “8 slices of bacon,” thus confirming that, indeed, in order to make bacon, one needs… bacon.

“Place 2 sheets of paper towel on a microwave safe plate, lay the bacon out on the paper towel not over lapping the slices. Place 2 more sheets of paper towel on top. Place in the microwave on high for 6 to 13 minutes,” the recipe further says under “instructions.”

And that’s it. No recommended mode of serving, no fancy dish arrangements, no nothing that complicated.

It’s no wonder then that readers of the site are raving in their comments about how wicked and original the recipe is (insert insanely high dose of sarcasm here).

As Food Network Humor also points out, while the recipe is, of course, brilliant, it’s reading the comments that makes for the most fun.

“Tried this recipe last night. The bacon was great, but the paper towels tasted awful,” user Local Boy Makes Goo wrote just yesterday.

He’s not the only to have eaten the paper towels. In fact, some users even go as far as to suggest not to use bacon at all: just put the paper towels into some oil, then pop them in the microwave and serve hot and crispy.

Other users, moved by Ray’s wonderful recipe, dare ask her for more: after all, there’s always room for better things.

“Does anyone have a good recipe for Banana? I typically take one from the bunch, peel it, discard the peed and eat it. But I feel like I am missing something. Any recipe for Orange would be helpful too,” user runge2002_730663 comments.

“This is BRILLIANT. I bet you could microwave things like soup, too. You just put it in there and it cooks. Amazing,” srseeker also writes.
