Only yesterday, I pointed out the fact that Earth Hour was starting to really gain popularity, hence its now being celebrated by billions of people worldwide.

The World Wildlife Fund now says that, for the first time ever, Moscow's Kremlin and Red Square will also go dark for one full hour in order to promote sustainability and green-oriented behaviors.

“For the very first time, Russia’s Kremlin, the residence of the President, and Red Square will switch off for Earth Hour tomorrow at 8:30PM to celebrate Earth Hour’s largest conservation outcome so far,” the WWF wrote on their website.

“WWF’s Earth Hour in Russia has become a shining example of the incredible environmental outcomes that can be achieved when people work together and take action beyond the hour,” argued Andy Ridley, the CEO and Co-Founder of Earth Hour.

Quick reminder: Earth Hour will be celebrated this March 23, and those wishing to take part in this event need only turn off the lights between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. local time.
