We were surprised a few days ago when Warner Bros. announced that Mortal Kombat X for mobiles was available for download.

Since the PC and console versions are still on track for an April 14 release, developers have decided to bring the game to the iOS and Android platforms earlier than expected.

However, while iOS users have been able to download and install Mortal Kombat X on their devices since April 7, Android fans are still in the dark when it comes to the release of the game.

When Warner Bros. issued the official announcement, it mentioned that both iOS and Android versions should have been released.

Unfortunately, we have just learned that the Android version of Mortal Kombat X won't be available for download through Google Play Store for another two weeks.

In fact, according to NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boone, Mortal Kombat X for Android might arrive on Google Play store “within 2 weeks.” This means that it could be available slightly earlier and this is just a tentative release date.

Android players will be able to get the game after its PC/console release

This means that Android users will be able to play the game only after the PC and console versions will be launched on April 14. A Windows Phone version of the game hasn't been announced yet.

In the same piece of news, Warner Bros. confirmed that Mortal Kombat X players on iOS and Android would be able to unlock rewards on the console version and vice versa.

However, for whatever reason, the PC version hasn't been mentioned in regards to these goodies that can be unlocked on the mobile version of the game.

Don't forget that if you own an iPad or iPhone device, you can now download Mortal Kombat X for iOS for free via the App Store.
