Video game developer NetherRealms Studios is continuing to offer more details about Mortal Kombat X ahead of the fighting title's launch date, with a new trailer offering gamers a look at Goro, one of the best-known enemies of the series.

The footage shows the creature, which draws his powers from the use of dragon blood, breathing fire and squashing the heads of his enemies when he manages to defeat them.

Some cool four arm moments are also included and will surely make long-term fans of the Mortal Kombat universe nostalgic for the times when they had to fight Goro in order to win the game.

At the moment, the development team has not offered a full rundown of the capabilities the character will have.

Some hints about his story are included, but fans will want to see more details about how he interacts with the rest of the extensive cast that will appear in Mortal Kombat X.

The fighting game is designed to make a jump into the future, allowing players to use a series of characters, some of them sons or daughters of established favorites.

Mortal Kombat X aims to make combat easier to control and more spectacular

NetherRealm is saying that the new experience will incorporate all the successful mechanics from the superhero-themed Injustice: Gods Among Us.

This means that gamers will have more ways than ever to interact with the levels in which they do battle and that each character has a new powerful attack that can quickly end a round if used correctly.

There are also new special moves, called Quitalities, designed to punish gamers who drop from online matches when they appear to be losing a game.

The development team and publisher Warner Bros. have already announced one downloadable content pack for the fighting game, which will give gamers a chance to play as both the Predator and Jason Voorhees.

Mortal Kombat X will be offered on April 14 on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The second day of June will also allow those who own an Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3 to play the title.

A mobile game with the same characters and similar mechanics is also being created.
