Sony is definitely planning to reveal something great regarding its A-mount digital SLR camera models, and the event seems to be only a few weeks away.
According to SonyAlphaRumors' source AnimalsBarry, the Nippon electronics maker will indeed release an A77 successor (A79) as previously rumored, featuring a 32MP image sensor.
Furthermore, the same source claims that the upcoming Sony A-mount DSLRs will pack a 24MP or a 36MP image sensor, probably the same one found in the company's latest mirrorless models, the A7 and A7r.
In addition to that, the upcoming hybrid camera will feature a z-shift sensor, while the rumored stacked sensor will be released sometime in early to mid-2015. It also seems that OSPDAF (on-sensor phase detection autofocus) will work with most third-party lenses in the future, allowing high-speed AF on optics from manufacturers like Tamron and Sigma.
As usual, take all this information with a considerable amount of salt, since it comes from an unverified source.
