What do infected mails look like

Some people are curious and sometimes click on dubious links they receive in their e-mails, then they get infected with viruses. There has been a lot of recent talk about the Storm virus that sends a lot of spam with links to different websites, all containing malware. So, now you will get to know what such messages looks like, so that if you receive any, you will not be tempted to click on the included link.

I've seen this e-mail templates on f-secure.com. Fortunately, I haven't got any of them myself. So, one message could come to you as sent from an MP3 site, giving you information about your account on that certain site. This account info is really bogus, since you get such spam messages without even ever logging on an MP3 site. They also tell you that the ID and password are temporary and they advise you to change them for security measures and then they post a link for you to click on it. If you ever get such an e-mail, do NOT click on the link. Otherwise, when you do, you will reach a malware infected site, that will try to affect your computer. If it doesn't work because you have an updated anti-virus, you will get a message saying that you need to download some of their software in order to administrate your account. Again, if you reached this level, do not download anything, the file contains a virus.

Of course, they use other pretexts as well, they will try the same scheme, but instead of an MP3 site, they could use an Internet dating website. And the list does not end here - they have been known to use subjects as: cat lovers, member details, membership support, new member confirmation, poker world and tech department, as according to f-secure.

So be careful what you click on, people!
