The new Nvidia powered mainboards for the Intel compatible desktop computing platform are expected to be the next big hit on the value market as more and more hardware manufacturing companies are announcing their own lines of products. Among those companies, there is the first tier mainboard producer Gigabyte, that just announced the launch of its own nForce 600i, GeFroce 7 based line of mainboards that are now available under the 73 Series designation.

The two Gigabyte motherboards that were announced today are called GA-73UM-S2H and GA-73PVM-S2H and they are centered around the Nvidia Intel aimed chipset from the 6th generation, while including the GeForce 7150 and 7100 integrated graphics processing units. According to the news site techtree, they are able to house the latest Intel made central processing units while offering extended support for the next generation of processors too.

Among the Intel processors that are supported by the two Gigabyte mainboards are the latest Core 2 processing units which are based on a multi-core internal hardware architecture, while they also offer support for high frontside bus running frequencies of 1333MHz and DDR2 memory modules that run at 800MHz.

Thanks to the fact that these two new Gigabyte mainboards are integrating the GeForce 7 series of processing units, they are able to provide users with an out of the box multimedia experience, being perfect for home and office use as well as working pretty good for the casual gamer too. As the GeForce 7 series of graphics processing units is offering hardware support for the DirectX 9 API specifications, these cards are also Shader Model 3.0 compliant, while also providing integrated support for HDMI connectivity through HDCP (High Definition Content Protection), allowing for the playback of Blu-ray/HD DVD and other protected media content.

In order to connect to a display system, these new mainboards are featuring both DVI and VGA support, while the external storage users' needs are catered by the presence of a rear port that is external Serial ATA compatible. On the sound processing department, the new Gigabyte cards are integrating the Realtek ALC889A audio codec with 7.1 + 2 channels of high definition output and they will be soon available, starting the 10th of October, from all retail channel dealers.
