Although Nokia has yet to officially confirm any details on the Lumia 928 smartphone, supposedly the successor of Lumia 920, new rumors on what the device would sport in terms of hardware and design appear meant to offer a better view on what to expect when the formal announcement arrives.

Earlier today, we spotted a Reddit post claiming that the Lumia 928 is already being tested in the field, and that it indeed packs a design different than the one featured by its predecessor.

A new post on Reddit, however, offers some new details on the matter, claiming that Nokia plans on branding the new looks of Lumia 928 as the Infinity Design.

Furthermore, the poster claims that the smartphone will be released with a body measuring 5.24 x 2.71 x 0.44 inch (13.3 x 6.9 x 1.12 cm), and that it will weigh 5.7 oz (162 grams).

As esphoneblog notes, this indeed makes it much thinner and lighter than the Nokia Lumia 920, just as previous reports suggested.

At the same time, the post claims that Nokia has packed the new mobile phone with a digital amplifier inside, and that it should be able to offer an appealing audio experience courtesy of that.

Unfortunately, the smartphone won’t feature Bluetooth 4.0 or Gorilla Glass 3, although enthusiasts would have certainly wanted it to.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is also expected to enjoy an impressive marketing campaign from Verizon, similar to the one spotted for the Motorola DROID a few years back.

In fact, rumor has it that the costs for this campaign were also split between Microsoft and Nokia, and that each company will invest around $30 million (around €23 million) into it.

Nokia’s Lumia 928 is expected to be officially introduced in May, though a specific release date for it has yet to be announced. Stay tuned to learn some more info on the matter.
