Round Rock, Texas-based PC vendor Dell is expected to expand its netbook lineup with the addition of a new 10-inch Inspiron Mini netbook, dubbed Mini 10. The netbook has been showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the company is still to announce the netbook officially, detailing its availability and pricing. However, details on the netbook continue to surface on the Internet, with the latest round of leaked info detailing a few more configuration options.

According to a supposed slide detailing the specifications of the Mini 10, Dell’s upcoming netbook will provide users with two display options. Aside from the 1366 by 768 pixel LCD that has been detailed in previous reports, the Mini 10 will also provide an option for a conventional 1024 x 576, WSVGA option, for users who don’t require a 720p-capable netbook. In addition, the netbook will feature support for either an Intel 1.3GHz or a 1.6GHz Atom Silverthorne processor.

Aside from that, the Mini 10 will provide users with basically the same netbook features that are available for most low-cost portable computer systems on the market. The netbook will support up to 2GB of memory and provide a choice for either a 120GB or a 160GB 2.5-inch hard drive. Additional features include a 1.3MP webcam, options for WiFi g/n, Bluetooth, WWAN and GPS connectivity, TV Tuner, 3 USB ports, HDMI, mic and headphone ports and a 5-in-1 card reader.

The netbook will provide options for 3-cell or 6-cell batteries and will be powered by either a Linux or a Windows XP operating system. As with most of its other portable computer systems, Dell will provide the Mini 10 with several color options. Given the specifications, the company might bring one of the best netbooks out there, leaving just one detail left uncovered, namely the pricing.
