Like most, if not all, of its possible rivals, ASUS will be demonstrating at least one media tablet at CES 2011, and it appears that one in particular will grab attention, one which has just been detailed better than what previous rumors managed.

So far, the majority of tablets released or announced have stuck to the 7-inch of 10-inch form factors.

Still, there are some exceptions, one of them being the very device that ASUS intends to show off during the 2011 International Consumer Electronics show.

The device in question is a certain larger than usual slate whose capabilities were just briefly outlined last week.

Now, Digitimes claims to have uncovered the general hardware specifications of the product.

The first thing that will stand out is the screen size of this Eee Pad EP121, namely 12 inches.

At the center of the configuration lies an Intel Core i5 central processing unit. The exact model was not mentioned, but Core i5 is enough to assume that the target market segment is the high-end one.

Since the chip will likely have integrated graphics, it is unlikely that NVIDIA's ION discrete card will be used.

Either way, the 12-inch display has full support for multi-touch, as well as for stylus input, but the native resolution remains a mystery still.

Other known details include a webcam, USB, a SD card slot and an HDMI video output, for streaming to auxiliary displays.

Finally, ASUS will load it with Microsoft Windows 7, as well as software the likes of Excel, Outlook and Word.

In tune with its supposed target consumer base, the upcoming product is said to bear a very solid price of $1,000.

What remains to be seen is how well it is received by CES attendants and how it compares to the 7-inch and 10-inch Eee Pad models that its maker also plans to show off.
