For Taiwanese and Korean users

If you've been wondering what ASUS would release next as part of its already vast Eee family, then you might as well know that it's not going to be an entirely new Eee PC. In fact, if you are one of the company's fans from Korea or Taiwan, you should expect two new color options for two of the company's already available Eee PCs.

According to the Korean version of one of the company's websites, the Korean and Taiwanese markets are in for a real treat, as ASUS will be releasing two new "Limited Edition" Eee PCs. A red version, with a white keyboard, of the company's Eee PC 1000H will be rolled out on the Korean market. Eee PC users in Taiwan will get a green "Limited Edition," based on the 10-inch Eee PC 901. However, details about the availability and price range for the new color options are yet to emerge.

Besides the new design, the company's "Limited Edition" Eee PCs bring nothing new to the table. That is to say, they are basically the same as the models upon which they have been build. So, users will get the same Intel Atom processing power and 1GB of RAM memory, as with the company's reference models. No details regarding the operating system have yet been made public, but it's highly probable that ASUS will equip the "Limited Edition" netbooks with a Windows XP OS.

Considering their new design, the netbooks will most certainly appeal to all feminine Eee PC users out there. However, at this point, no one can really tell whether the Taiwanese manufacturer is also planning to bring the new color options to its western fans in Europe and the US.

Currently, ASUS has a total of 12 Eee PC models, including the 7-inch models. The company is said to be considering expanding the Eee PC lineup with the release of a number of high-end models, although some rumors indicate that these will not be branded with the Eee logo.
