A black version if anything...

Different Apple TV models is the current big rumor floating around the web. Sparked by a user who observed that the Apple TV presentation page uses a format that is specific to products with multiple models such as the iPods and iMacs, everyone is talking about the possibilities.

While it does seem likely that Apple will include other Apple TV models in the future, that does not mean it will be anytime soon. In fact, they likely won't be here for many months. Even in the case of the new Shuffle, which also had the exact same page layout as the Apple TV, it took some time for Apple to put in the other models, and the only thing that varied there was the color.

Of the possible upgrades that we could be seeing on the Apple TV, one of the most talked about ones is a bigger hard drive. While understandable, this seems very unlikely. The Apple TV was not intended as a storage device, quite the contrary. Apple wants to get users used to streaming content with this, and offering a big hard drive would be counter productive.

That having been said, the Apple TV has also ignited the desire of users to use the little box as a central depository for all their media. While this would indeed be great, it is not something for the Apple TV. If anything, Apple might offer a companion device that stacks neatly with the Apple TV and is nothing massive storage.

As for the DRV capabilities that are also very popular, that is also rather unlikely mainly because of the limited processing power of the box and the small hard drive, not to mention the issue of ports. If Apple were to do anything like this, it would most likely also be a separate box that stacks neatly with the existing one.

In truth, the biggest thing Apple could do with the Apple TV is open it up a little on the software side so that users could make it play more file formats without having to pen it up and mess with the hard drive, and it would be a massive boost.
