Remedy Entertainment, the developer of the Alan Wake series, has revealed that it always wants to please fans so, if they want more Alan Wake experiences, the studio will definitely make their desires come true.

After the impressive Alan Wake for the Xbox 360 back in 2010, Remedy Entertainment decided to branch out and work not just on that game's PC version, which is out this week, but also on a downloadable spinoff called Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which is out next week via the Xbox Live Arcade.

Speaking to Joystiq, Remedy boss Matias Myllyrinne confirmed that the studio owns the right to the Alan Wake property, so it can freely decide what to do with it in order to please its fans.

"We're crowd pleasers, we'll do what the audience wants, 'cause usually that's the good business move as well," he said.

Myllyrinne also admitted that the digital distribution business model, which would help get Alan Wake's American Nightmare onto the Xbox 360, was quite interesting and much more dynamic than the usual, triple-A one.

"I'm loving the digital [distribution] side and we'll see how that evolves, but just being able to give people quick access to bite-size chunks of gaming is maybe more fun than working for years and years - taking the phone offline and closing the shutters- at least, this way, you're able to react much more quickly to people's desires and wishes."

The Remedy boss also mentioned that a few surprises were in store for Alan Wake fans on the PC, but it mostly depended on how well the PC version of the first game performed.

"Hopefully, we'll have one or two surprises... I don't know. I don't know if that would dictate it. If it bombs [laughs], then that's certainly a signal, but we're fairly confident that it'll do well. We'll certainly continue with Wake. Right now we're focusing on getting the PC out next week, then getting American Nightmare out. And it's too early to talk about what our next move is, but we've obviously put things into motion."

Alan Wake on the PC is out on February 16, via Steam, while American Nightmare arrives on February 22, as part of the Xbox Live House Party promotion.
