Even if the two devices have received positive reviews, customers are not impressed

There has been a lot of buzz around the launch of the Kindle Fire HDX and enthusiastic reviews have popped up all over the place. But did this frenzy manage to excite customers enough to go ahead and pick up a Kindle HDX of their own?

Sources inside Taiwan-based supply chain makers, reported by DigiTimes, claim that monthly shipments for the freshly squeezed device have failed to meet expectations. The same goes for Google’s Nexus 7 slate, which has also been promoted around the web as a very worthy tablet alternative.

The sources go on to say they expect Kindle HDX and Nexus 7 models to ship less in 2013 than their preceding models did in 2012. The reason for the disappointing sales probably consists in the fact that the competition in the tablet market has been getting fiercer by the day.

Moreover, bear in mind that Apple just recently unveiled its Apple iPad Air and Retina Display iPad mini, another factor that will probably contribute to the 2013 decline of the Amazon and Google slates.

Back in 2012, Nexus 7 was on top managing to ship almost 1 million units worldwide, during the first month since its release.
