The saltwater crocodile featured in the picture above was recently shot dead in Australia's Northern Territory.

The people who tracked down the animal and killed it explain that they had to do so as a result of its threatening the wellbeing of the local human population.

“We had a report the other day that there was a large crocodile there that was menacing the kids,” Senior Parks And Wildlife Ranger Tommy Nichols allegedly told members of the press.

The crocodile was killed fairly close to Palumpa, sources report. Information shared with the public says that the animal measured a whopping 4.8 meters (about 15.74 feet) in length, hence its being feared by locals.

As one can easily notice, the crocodile was so big that it could barely fit in the back of the ute that was later on used to transport its body.
