They reach 80 MB/s on both connections and link to both PCs and smartphones

USB 3.0 flash drives don't really make people bat an eyelash anymore, which means that their makers need to come up with new things to show off. Monster Digital didn't invent anything spectacular for the new Advanced Series, but it did implement some unusual features.

First off, the drives have two USB ports each. One of them is a full-size connector for PCs, while the other is a micro USB connector, common for most Android smartphones.

So you don't need to wait until you're home in order to use a data cable to download files from your smartphone (and, thus, free up memory for more photos and videos).

It also helps when you want some photos or other files from your friends' phone or tablet, but they can't come home with you to pass it on, and you don't want to wait until your next meeting for a CD or whatever else with them.

The other main asset of the Advanced Series USB Flash drives is the USB On-The-Go (OTG) compatibility.

Although it's a bit wrong to say it like that, because if OTG wasn't supported (the ability to let phones and other devices act as a host), all those scenarios we have mentioned above would be impossible.

As for the design itself, it is both sleek and rugged, at least that's how Monster Digital describes the shell of the Advanced Series USB OTG.

Furthermore, the company tossed in advanced error correction, and static and dynamic wear leveling technology.

The newcomer should be able to reach 80 MB/s transfer speed on both types of USB ports, although that may only apply to the 64 GB drive. Flash-based units tend to be slower the less capacity they have.

Speaking of which, there are 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB units, priced at $16.99 / €16.99, $23.99 / €23.99, $39.99 / €39.99 and $74.99 / €74.99, respectively.
