Another day, another smartwatch announcement. Certainly, there’s no surprise there, but luckily, we seem to be advancing intro an era of more aesthetically pleasing designs, in the category.

This is certainly very good news, especially since one of the main concerns of smartwatch adopters was how the wearable actually looked. Sure, it's fine to strap it on while you are out for a run, but wearing a Samsung Gear 2 at a wedding doesn't seem too appropriate.

A while ago, Kairos announced its own smartwatch iteration, which aims to combine the features of a mechanical timepiece with the intelligent abilities we have seen in products like the one mentioned above.

The watch comes with a transparent OLED display that lies on the top of the traditional one and is used to relay notifications.

Well, while we wait for Kairos’ amazing looking timepiece, another startup called Momentum Labs is showing off an OLED smartwatch, called Moment, which promises to provide up to an amazing 30 days of battery life.

Outwardly, Moment is reminiscent of a bracelet with a digital watch face on top, but unlike other products on the market, the notifications are being kept more private and relayed on a display that sits on the inside of the wristband.

We’re not sure how comfortable and intuitive that would feel, but this aspect should be tested out when the first batch of Moment smartwatches start shipping out.

Anyway, the entire surface of the wearable should be made up of a 150 dpi display with full touch capacity.

The inside of the band will also be capable of displaying a full QWERTY keyboard, which is said not to be “inconvenient,” but the reality is that you’ll probably have a hard time texting something like this (check out the video for yourself).

To make things more advanced, the smartwatch is said to house a curved battery, like the Samsung Gear Fit is currently embedding. The wearable’s body is 0.9 mm / 0.03 inches at the edge and weighs a meager 100 g / 0.22 lbs.

Furthermore, the inside of the band comes equipped with a slot that can accommodate a “Snapware,” which is a swappable module used to bring about a new kind of functionality, by performing updates and such.

Momentum Labs is planning to set up the project on Kickstarter soon, where it aims to gather the necessary funds in order to make the product a reality. When it arrives, the Moment should sell to interested parties for $230 / €169 a pop.
