The news just broke that a 22-year-old mother from Lismore recently had a wildlife encounter she will probably never manage to forget.

Thus, Tess Guthrie woke up to find that a 1.85 meters (6.06 feet) long python was wrapped around her 2-year-old daughter, Zara. Needless to say, she panicked and desperately tried to remove the snake from the bed in which she and her kid were sleeping.

As was to be expected, the python was not very happy about it and ended up biting the girl three times on her hand.

However, wildlife experts argue that the snake was not by any means trying to harm the girl. Thus, it merely got startled and fought back in the only way it knew how.

2-year-old Zara was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors made sure that her injuries were treated accordingly. As far as the snake is concerned, sources report that, rather than being killed, it was released back into the wild.
