If there’s one thing smartwatch adopters are complaining about when it comes to their devices is the unpolished looks. Even with all the extra functions and modes of use, a Gear 2 won’t ever be able to compete with a classic Swatch in terms of stylishness.

However, a new invention coming from a Tel Aviv-based company has come up with a solution for blending the good looks of a mechanical watch with the brains of the smartwatch, GizMag informs.

The Modillian is basically a “smart strap” which allows users to turn their “standard” or “dumb” time-keepers into fashionable smartwatches.

Basically, the Modillian will replace the classic strap of your watch, with one that has a clasp with integrated Bluetooth for pairing with an Android smartphone.

Thus, you get a smartwatch capable of sending notifications to your wrist each time you receive an incoming call, text, message or reminders by virtue of vibration.

The creators of Modillian claim the device is capable of working up to one week on a single charge. The team behind the “smart strap” plan to market the invention as a premium leather watch strap.

Before getting too excited about Modillian, you should know the device is currently in its design phase, but will soon go into its crowdfunding phase set to start on June 10.
