A fix for the exploit is already in testing

Millions of people have played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 online, so it's no surprise that all sorts of glitches have been found. After all, the statistical chance that a player will run into a faulty code line is well in favor of the player. One of the most known ones, as well as one of the most vexing ones, is the Javelin Glitch. Even if it works with pretty much all launchers, the Javelin name stuck to it for being the most used weapon in the combo, since it delivered the biggest damage output.

The end-result of the glitch is that the player can skim across the map, running and knifing anyone in sight with the added bonus of becoming a human bomb upon death. It's one of those scenarios where you're afraid the enemy will kill you, but you're just as afraid to kill the enemy yourself. It's a lose-lose situation for the adversary of the Javelin Glitch. And, if you think that you're good enough to keep such exploiters at bay and yourself out of the blast zone, remember that perks like the increased explosive-weapon damage and the ability to sprint indefinitely will make your life a living hell.

The good news is that Infinity Ward is on top of the problem and is working around the clock to fix it. The company's Robert Bowling delivered the good news via Twitter and said that, "Javelin Glitch fix [is] currently in test. Once it's cleared, we'll be urging it through Microsoft & Sony certification as fast as possible." Later, he added that a PC fix was also in the works, and this one would be ready even sooner.

It's not some preferential treatment made to mend the broken egos of the PC gamers, it's just that, unlike with the consoles, it doesn't have to pass any of the manufacturer's certification process, so the update can be applied instantly, as soon as the testing for it is complete. But, even if the killing spree of the glitch is about to be ended, you shouldn't rush in and get as many kills as you can before it's fixed, but quite the opposite. Players caught using the glitch will find themselves banned from Xbox Live, so you're better off sticking to your FAL or M14 for you're free frags.
