As long as the tablet has 3G support, custom ROM can do the trick

There aren't many things that can prompt regular people to submit their devices to potentially warranty-voiding software maneuvers, but the lack of voice calls on Samsung's Galaxy Tab may be one of them.

When a device comes with 3G support, especially one running Android, one would expect voice calls to be part of the feature set.

Alas, though certain slates of 10.1 inches, like Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1, do indeed have this, some, like Galaxy Tab 10.1, do not.

Fortunately, people from the XDA Developers forum put together four roms that enabled voice calls on the Tab 10.1.

There are four mods, one for the stock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software and three for custom mods. The instructions should be followed very closely. While no mention of voided warranties is made, missteps can severely mess up the software.
