Canadian carrier Mobilicity has recently announced the availability of Samsung C414Y, an affordable feature-phone that supports the carrier's 3G network.

Launched in Q1 2010, Mobilicity is a relatively new network operator, which was founded by Dave Wireless, a company that invested a large amount of money for 10 licenses in the country.

The C414Y is the first Samsung mobile phone retailed through the Canadian carrier, but it seems to be cheaper than other versions available from larger operators in Canada.

The handset is currently available for purchase for only CAD 109.99$ (about $112) without contract, which is about $40 lower than the price at Telus, for example.

Samsung C414Y bears a robust clamshell form factor and is especially designed to provide users with optimal call and text quality.

Even though the flip phone does not impress through its features, many users will be attracted by the low price, especially those who don't need more advanced phones and only limit themselves to talking and texting.

The C414Y mobile phone is available at Mobilicity stores and authorized dealers across Canada, but it will not be sold with a handset tab, credit check, nor does it come with a contract to lock a customer into a multi-year service plan, like other Canadian carriers.

As a side note, Mobilicity carries more than 10 handsets and smartphone brands, including some running Android mobile platform, from some of the world's renowned handset manufacturers.

Currently, some of the most important mobile phones that can be purchased include devices such as: BlackBerry Bold 9780, BlackBerry Curve 3G, Nexus One, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Nokia 5230, LG Wink and Motorola Spice.

However, some of these handsets, like the Nexus One, are out of stock, which might suggest that the carrier plans to introduce new Android smartphones in the near future.
