Already transitioned to MobileMe? Good, check Software Update, there should be something there for you - a Mac OS X Update for MobileMe. Leopard users are encouraged to update to MobileMe 1.1 as the new version includes general system fixes aimed at optimizing your MobileMe experience.

"The Mac OS X Update For MobileMe is recommended for users running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4 and includes general system fixes that enhance your Mac for MobileMe," Apple says.

MobileMe is Apple's new Internet service that replaces .Mac. It automatically pushes new email, contacts and calendar events to your Mac, PC, iPhone and iPod touch, and makes sure all your information stays up to date across all your devices. The changes you make on one device are automatically "pushed" to the MobileMe "cloud," then back to every device you use. Aside push email, push calendar and push contacts, MobileMe also offers web applications at me.com, a MobileMe Gallery for photo sharing, MobileMe iDisk for online document access and a generous 20GB of online storage. MobileMe replaces .Mac as Apple's subscription-based service.

MobileMe works with the native applications you already use on your iPhone (Mail, Contacts, and Calendar), on your Mac (Mail, Address Book, and iCal), and your PC (Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, and Windows Contacts).

Using me.com, you can check your email, change your calendar, edit your contacts, share photos and documents. Me.com was set up so you can access all your personal information from anywhere. You can drag and drop, click and drag, use keyboard shortcuts, and switch between applications, just like you would with a real desktop application.

MobileMe will require Mac OS X v10.4.11 (the latest version of Tiger) or 10.5.4 (the latest version of Leopard), Safari 3, Firefox 2 or later, software version 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch, and the latest version of iTunes (iTunes 7.7).
