Apple has updated MobileMe services to add improvements for iOS 4 devices, new versions of iDisk, Gallery, Mail and Calendar apps, as well as improvements for Mac OS X 10.6.4, and the Find My iPhone function. MobileMe is a cloud-based service developed by Apple, allowing customers to stay in sync across all their devices, while also backing up their data.

“The MobileMe service has been recently updated with improvements as described below,” Apple states in a Support document on its web site. “Affecting” MobileMe Contacts, MobileMe Mail, MobileMe Find My iPhone, MobileMe, the update brings improvements with iOS 4.0 (for iPhone and iPod touch) in that the Mail app now supports MobileMe Mail aliases when composing or replying to messages. The Find My iPhone app now allows customers to find their device from another iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, as revealed a while back. As for the Find My iPhone at me.com, it now has a full-screen map view, while multiple devices are listed in a sidebar.

iDisk version 1.2 has been designed for both iPhone and iPad, Apple notes - another announcement made earlier this week. There is now an option to open iDisk documents in compatible apps (such as open a PDF file in iBooks). The new MobileMe Mail web application is now available for all users, Apple also confirmed.

A revamped Gallery app (now at version 1.1.1) allows for the automatic download of higher resolution images on iPhone 4, when viewing individual photos over a Wi-Fi network. MobileMe Control Panel 1.6 is mentioned as well. Its makers note improved syncing of MobileMe Contacts with Microsoft Outlook.

The Calendar Beta at me.com, as reported by Softpedia earlier this week, includes a new web application with support for calendar sharing and event invitations. For the main Me.com website, a couple of changes are listed as well: Clicking the cloud icon brings up an application switcher; Clicking your name allows you to access Help, Account, and sign out. Finally, one improvement with Mac OS X 10.6.4 is listed: an issue that may cause Address Book contacts to disappear when sharing is enabled has now been fixed.
