gWallet company has just announced the release of a new platform that should provide mobile application developers the ability monetize their apps via branded offers and installs, by using virtual currency.

For those that don't know, gWallet is a well-known leader in social media monetization and it was founded by the famous Gurbaksh Chahal.

Gurbaksh Chahal co-founded Click Agents in 1999, and merged it with ValueClick for $40 million 18 months later. He then founded BlueLithium on January 2004 and on October 2007 sold it to Yahoo for $300 million in cash.

“Consumers who are playing games on their phones are not willing to complete web-based offers,” said Gurbaksh Chahal, gWallet’s Founder and CEO. “They don’t have the time to go through a lot of screens, and they don’t want to enter in a lot of information on a small keyboard. We solve that problem by delivering mobile-specific offers and installs from brands they trust.”

Together with the new platform, gWallet also announced that it has signed a partnership with Mobclix, one of the largest targeted mobile ad exchange, to support the launch and to expand it as fast as possible.

The new partnership is also supposed to promote various brands through traditional offers especially designed for the mobile environment.

Advertisers will be able to promote their games through banner ads, and developers can promote across other apps to maximize reach among their target gaming demographic.

gWallet's new platform includes a bidding system, which allows developers to be assured they are paying the lowest price on the market.

“gWallet is changing the demand equation. As an exchange, we see this as a premium opportunity for publishers, as gWallet’s demand from agencies and advertisers is truly unique,” said Krishna Subramanian, Co-Founder of Mobclix.

“We’ll work closely with gWallet in extending a new class of offers to the mobile consumer – offers that embrace the new and growing demand for virtual currency as a form of payment,” added Subramanian.

gWallet Mobile will be available on iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and other smartphone platforms.
