The prolific American singer and producer Missy Elliot is planning a long overdue return to the musical industry. After all, it's been 9 years since she topped charts with songs from her award-winning “The Cookbook” album.

Speaking with Yahoo's “The Yo Show,” Missy hinted that she would return to making music, but it's a lengthy process, since she's looking to come out with quality material. She also mentioned that she might pull a Beyonce and surprise her fans with an unannounced release.

“When I create something, it's gotta be special, and it can't just be to throw something out there because I feel like I'm Missy,” said the singer and added “I gotta feel like what I'm giving the fans is 100 per cent and that it's game-changing. I don't just throw out microwave records.”

But that was all that Elliot was ready to disclose. When prompted about a release date, she conveniently shut the interviewer out: “I just ain't telling nobody when.”

Despite the fact that she hasn't come out with new material of her own, Missy has been busy making collaborations with a lot of musicians, which saw her lending her vocals to tracks by Monica, Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan and Jennifer Hudson.
