It seems that, taking a page out of the recruitment efforts of the United States military establishment, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has acted as co-developer on a first-person shooter military simulation project, under the name Mission of Honor.

The information comes from the PLA Daily publication, which also mentions that the video game has been co-developed by Wuzi Giant Interactive Group.

It seems that Mission of Honor has been worked on for more than two years.

The report says that the military-themed video game follows the life of a normal soldier who lives and works inside a military camp, with the tasks he is assigned and missions leading to a final large scale battle that has the same name as the game.

The game offers basic training for gamers to familiarize themselves with the mechanics, solo missions and a number of challenges created specifically for a team.

The PLA Daily says that the Chinese military establishment saw the need to create Mission of Honor because using military simulation tools that were developed by other nations would confuse recruits about the values they need to adopt.

The publication also mentions that the game offers a fun experience.

It's not clear whether Mission of Honor will be released to those outside the military or whether players in the West might have access to it.

The United States military has been working on its own series of military simulation titles, America's Army, which are mostly used as recruitment tools and in order to show potential recruits what their life in different branches of the service would look like.

Army recruiters have stated that America's Army is a very efficient tool and the military has reportedly spent more than 33 million on it so far, although it seems that the returns far outweigh the costs.
