Following its pulling a Houdini and disappearing in mysterious circumstances from an Iowa museum, a leopard tortoise named Cashew showed up inside one of the building's elevators.

Since tortoises are a tad too short to reach elevator buttons, the staff at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque are quite convinced that Cashew was stolen and later on returned.

It appears that the tortoise has not in any way been harmed while missing from the museum, Daily Mail informs us. However, Cashew will be made to undergo a thorough medical examination, just to clear all doubts.

Presently, both the museum's employees and police officers are busy trying to identify the person who took Cashew.

It is their hope that they will be able to catch this individual by reviewing the footage recorded by the surveillance cameras installed inside the museum.
