As most of you probably know by now, the mirrorless camera segment is more popular in Asia and Europe rather than on the American continent.

In a new graph posted by Personal-View, the difference between the three major markets are shown very clearly. We can see that when it comes to the mirrorless segment, Asia has almost 40% of the total sales, Europe comes second with almost 30%, Japan solely manages to attract 16% while the Americas come fourth with only 12.15% of the total camera sales.

The scale changes in favor of the American continent when it comes to the DSLR camera market. According to this graph, the Americas have a 34% market share, Europe holds second place with 31%, Asia has 25% and Japan is last with almost 8% of the entire sale figures.

This was probably Canon's motivation to announce its latest EOS M2 mirrorless camera only in Asia, without having any plans to release it in the US or Europe anytime sooner.
