Mirror's Edge is going to be an extremely interesting game. Set to occur in a future dystopian city, where all of the residents are being tightly watched, and only runners and special couriers can walk freely, jumping from building to building to deliver their cargo. The main character is Faith, a young girl who seeks revenge on the rulers of the city. She uses her free-running abilities to escape her pursuers in a “parkour” like way. All the trailers released up until now have let us stare in amazement to the gameplay of this very innovative title from DICE, the developers of the well known Battlefield series of games.

The company has recently announced that it would be releasing an album containing the theme song of the game, plus five more remixes made by the most famous DJs in the world. The main song is interpreted by Swedish pop star Lisa Miskovsky and is entitled “Still Alive”, with no link to the ending song from the Portal game. Among the DJs who will be remixing her song are Junkie XL, Benny Benassi, Paul van Dyk or Armand Van Helden, all well known and respected musicians around the world.

“A groundbreaking videogame demands an equally provocative theme song,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA. “We’ve taken an unprecedented approach to this track, bringing together several of the world’s top remixers to create an album that will not only cross genres and borders, but also redefine how great new music can be delivered to the world.”

The album will be available starting November 11, on digital platforms, alongside the game that will be launched for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Sadly, there is no word on the release date for the PC yet.
