Most of the times, you really can’t win with the tabloids. After unveiling a much slimmer figure early this month and revealing the secret to her weight loss, country star Miranda Lambert is now forced to actually issue a statement shutting down reports that she turned to surgery to help her shift the extra pounds.

Miranda has always been very open about her weight, often stressing that she would never diet or put herself through hell just because someone else told her that she’d look better skinnier. She had a sudden change of heart before turning 30, when she decided to enter this new chapter in her life healthier.

This naturally translated into weight loss, which she attributed to healthy eating and lots of exercise, which she described generally as “running, running.”

However, that didn’t stop certain glossies and tabloids from speculating that she might have had some extra help in her quest for a healthier life and slimmer figure. Miranda, for the record, is offended by the suggestion, as she makes it clear in CAPS on her blog.

“Though I NEVER care what the tabloids have to say about me… I wanted to address this certain story they are running this week and set the record straight. I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight. That is ridiculous. I lost my weight the healthy and good old fashioned way,” the star writes.

“Watching what I eat and working out with my trainer Bill Crutchfield. As for the assumed number of pounds lost…? I don’t even know! Like I have always said, it’s not about a scale, it’s about how you feel and how your jeans fit. And on November 10th when I turned 30, my skinny jeans were finally baggy! Mission accomplished!” she boasts.

She concludes her message by pleading with her fans not to believe the hype and the rumors, because they go against everything she stands for. “I am proud to be a normal size girl and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size. Thanks for the support yall!” she says.

This is what Miranda has been saying all along, that for her health and happiness are more important than a number on the scales. We believe her that she didn’t have surgery to lose the weight. Do you?
